Dale C. Hesdorffer, PhD
- Professor of Epidemiology (in the Gertrude H. Sergievsky Center) at the Columbia University Medical Center
Dr. Hesdorffer graduated from Barnard College in 1981 with a BA in Biology. After working for a few years in a laboratory at the Rockefeller University, she entered the School of Public Health at Columbia University, earning an MPH in epidemiology in 1989, an M. Phil. in 1990 and a Ph.D. in 1993. Dr. Hesdorffer was a Sergievsky Scholar in 1991. She did her post-doctoral research training under Dr. W.A. Hauser at the GH Sergievsky Center through a grant from the Epilepsy Foundation of America. From 1995 to 1999, Dr. Hesdorffer was an Associate Research Scientist at the GH Sergievsky Center and from 1994 until 1999, she was also a Lecturer in the Department of Epidemiology at Columbia's School of Public Health. Since 1999, Dr. Hesdorffer has been an Assistant Professor of Epidemiology in the Mailman School of Public Health.
